| Go Vote. Just do it. (and kindly tell people to stop calling me about it) Happy thing: we bought tickets for dd's basketball fundraiser.... dh and I are having chicken BBQ tonight. hhhmm what can the children eat? IL's back from FL, might have someone interested in their condo for sale there. They also brought us a 20" TV and a HUGE crockpot, one of those new fangled oval ones. So some more switching around of televisions, this one has sleep timer so dh would like that for bedroom as I tend to fall asleep, leaving him to wake at O'darkthirty to a blazing TV screen. oopsie! DS would like one for his room, which he could hook up the old playstation to. Errands to run today. Books to mail. and a fairy pkg to get together. :) Storytime was about apples today. dd as usual, just sat and munched on her cereal, no participation. why? She is so out going and verbal at home, hockey, grocery stores. Why so meek and mild at the library around kids her age? She sings all the songs and fingerplays at home, knows the words and movements..... strange. | | |
| Quick updates because I am sooo bad at this: DD's bus was in an accident on way to school. Everyone was okay including the motorcycle man who RAN INTO the bus. DD thinks he broke his arm, she saw him fly in the air. A little nervous to go on the bus this AM, but brave soul she did it. Halloween was lovely here. Warm weather (for Oct. in NY) so almost no coats on. Dh and I TorT'd with a vampire and a ballerina. I also ran into a strange boy with green hair, white face and tattoo'd arms that looked like DS. Oldest dd went to a "show" (localbandconcert) as a cat. DD#2 worked in the neighborhood haunted house. She had gone to a party on Sat as the Corpse Bride....wearing my senior prom dress -a lacey spendiferous totally 80's dress, which fit her PERFECTLY. Wow, I was tiny! | | |
| A little FALL color to make my xanga purdy. The weather sure is bizarre here, less than an hour away had 20" snow, power out, trees down, weather related deaths.... FYI Don't run a generator IN your home. Today is rain, rain, rain. Yesterday I took three kids to doctor. Two are coughing and hacking but they have your basic cold. (sometimes I smack myself in the head, I knew that, they don't have some mystery illness or the dreaded whooping cough) Other dd was there for a TB test, she needs it for a program at the zoo...they gave her a flu shot by mistake! Oldest dd is actually, dare I say it and jinx it? pleasant! She has a nice BF. I did have to drive hither and yon last night because his truck broke down. Drove half hour to his house, then another half hour following them to garage, then to our home again.....an hour. THEN we reluctantly agree (dh&I that is) he could "sleep over" ON COUCH and take her car to work (my insurance).....but he didn't think we'd allow that so guess who drove him home at 11pm ??? this tired mama thats who. Alrighty, off to get ready for storytime at the library. Have to don my designer matching outfit with bebe, put on my flawless make-up, and drive my brand new SUV.......WAKE UP! That was a joke. I've got on corduroys from the thrift store, a hand-me-down sweater dd didn't like and my generic clogs. Bebe will hopefully be in a clean outfit. (and drive my old van w/ no heat > or < dd's car w/ a hole in the muffler BUT heat) Toodles. | | |
| Took a break. Lurked, didn't post, didn't comment. Did ya miss me? | | |
| We didn't go to Teddy concert, and now my dd is disappointed because they filmed it for a DVD. I just cannot fit everything into one day/night. We did go to a "sock hop" 50th anniversary of our local recreation dept. Great bands, cheap food with 1950's prices: Fries .20, hot dogs .20, cheeseburgers .30, and FREE root beer floats in a mug to keep! We fed the family for $3.00. Yes thats not a typo THREE DOLLARS. Gotta love it. And the little girls had their picture taken and will probably be in the newspaper. Fun night My friend had her baby girl 7lbs 8oz. We saw her Friday night. She's sooo beautiful. Nursing well. :) Anniversary of 9/11 today. Creepy on msnbc, they replayed the live Today show coverage. It was so odd to go back five years in time. | | |
